FREE MAN
I was born as a prisoner,
I never saw my parents in the prison,
But I was always hearing their voices in my head.
The prison guard was very Wicked,
He comes every night, challenges me and he always win.
He gives me variety of weapons to fight against him, but he without any weapon, prevails against me without breaking a sweat.
I tried everything in my power to escape,
Every plan I made to escape was a waste because the prison guard was wiser, smarter and stronger than me.
(It was as if he knew everything I was going to do)
One day, trying to come up with another plan.
I heard a voice (not my parents’ this time) saying
“You are wasting your time, you can’t defeat the guard with any plan you come up with, you can’t escape from this prison like this, but I know way for you to escape ....”.
I shouted in desperation, what is it?!, Please tell me, I really need to leave here.
But I got no response,
I shouted more and more “please, help me I need to leave this place”, but there was no response still.
I kept on thinking- about what the voice told me- everyday, looking for the escape the voice talked about.
Another day came, the voice returned and said “there is a man stronger than the prison guard, if only you can humble yourself and call upon Him for help, then he will help you escape”.
I tried as much as possible to humble myself and I called upon Him, I got no response, I tried for so many days, trying as much as possible to make myself more humble.
One night, I was so tired of trying. I was thinking when the prison guard came to fight me (as usual).l, he brought so many weapons even advanced weapons. It was at that moment I remembered the voice said “... Note, you must be willing to leave everything you know or love to follow Him.”
I looked at the weapons and smiled and I made a little statement with all sincerity of my heart, and with tears “Lord, I can’t help myself in this situation, I believe you can. I’m willing to give up everything I know and love, please help me”.
As I was done making those statements, I knelt down helpless as I saw the prison guard moving towards me to attack and suddenly he stopped.
As I looked up to see what happened I saw a spear trusted into his chest, and a man holding the spear beside me. The man holding the spear said unto me “get out of here, NOW!!!” .
I ran as fast as my leg could carry me and hid myself in a cave,
I don’t know how he (the man that saved me from the guard) found me.
He came into the cave wounded,
His feet were bleeding, his body had bleeding stripes, his palms had holes as if a round dagger pierced it.
I was so afraid, and I fell on my knees, and he fell on me with a smile on his face and said “you are free” and he faded away like dust
From that day onward I knew what it felt like to be free and I leaved my life everyday in appreciation to what He did for me on that day.
